Miranda is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC – CPT 1997), Loyola University Chicago (BA in Theater/English, 2006), and The University of Houston PATP (MFA, 2009). She worked extensively in theater, film and TV during her time in NYC and Chicago. In 2006, she spent 6 weeks in Greece, performing in a tour of Euripides’ Hippolytus with The University of Detroit Michigan. Performing in ancient Greece was a life changing experience for Miranda, and inspired her to seek her graduate degree in theater. In 2007, she moved to Houston, TX to attend The University of Houston. Houston credits include work with Mildred’s Umbrella (The Drowning Girls), Catastrophic Theater (The Pine and Middletown), Divergence Vocal Theater (Selkie: A Sea Tale, Voix et Harpe and Klytemnestra), The Fan Factory Theater (The Stronger and Comrades), Mildred’s Umbrella (Museum of Dysfunction 2010), Nova Arts Project (War of the Roses Cycle) and The University of Houston (Good Woman of Setzuan, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Buy One Get Five Free and Free Man of Color). Miranda also enjoys teaching and has previously taught with HITS Theater, Lone Star College-CyFair, San Jacinto College, The University of Houston, and The Art Institute of Houston-North; among others. Miranda is a member of the Houston-based, psychedelic rock band, Lone Star Hippie (vocals/flute/percussion). They are currently recording their 2nd album and are also working with 60’s psychedelic rock legend, George Kinney (of The Golden Dawn) on his newest album. Both albums are being recorded at Montrose Records, and are scheduled for release later this year.
