Ron is celebrating 45 years in theatre as an actor, director, and producer. He has directed close to 150 productions at such theatres as Main Street Theater (THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, INTIMATE APPAREL, THE SISTERS ROSENSWEIG , JAMES JOYCE’S THE DEAD…),The Ensemble (CONSTANT STAR, JOANNE!, JUST A LITTLE MARK, …), Theatre LaB Houston (DIVA, THE SUM OF US, CATHOLIC SCHOOL GIRLS, …), Stages (CASSEROLE, JANIS!, UNDER A WING…) , Mildred’s Umbrella (COMPLEAT FEMALE STAGE BEAUTY, KIMBERLY AKIMB, BECKY’S NEW CAR), Houston Family Arts Center (THE GIFT OF THE MAGI, CROWNS), The Queensbury Theatre (THIEVES, DREAMGIRLS, HAIRSPRAY), and many others. In addition, he has acted in approximately 100 productions. Favorite roles include Greta in BENT, Sir Evelyn in ANYTHING GOES, and Jimmy in LARGE ANIMALS GAMES. Ron recently retired after teaching theatre for 36 years in HISD and The Lone Star College System. He is a 26 year member of Actor’s Equity Association and recently directed the first Actor’s Equity Showcase in Houston, Tennessee Williams’ THE MILK TRAIN DOESN’T STOP HERE ANYMORE. He is Artistic Director of Celebration Theatre which produces plays which address diversity with integrity and sensitivity. At Celebration, Ron directed NEXT FALL, LOVE LOSS AND WHAT I WORE, and STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS. He is the former Artistic Director of New Heights Theatre where he directed and/or produced 34 Houston premieres. Ron is a proud member of the Mildred’s Umbrella Theatre Company!
