CLOUD TECTONICS

cloud tectonics

By: Jose Rivera

Directed by: Jennifer Decker

January 22-February 7 2015

On a dark and rainy night in L.A., “average joe” Anibal de la Luna picks up a very pregnant hitchhiker named Celestina del Sol and offers her refuge. He soon learns that nothing about the beautiful Celestina is average. Time stops when she’s around – literally – and their unconventional romance begins. Written by Obie-award winning playwright, José Rivera, Cloud Tectonics brings magical realism to the stage, bending time, space, and perception under the heavy weight of true love.
The LA Times called Cloud Tectonics “a meditation on the immortal days of our lives, days in which time stands still and we feel the grip of eternal mysteries.”
Variety called Cloud “sweet and touching, a mystical love story for the millennium.”
This show was made possible by grants from the Houston Arts Alliance.
